Embracing Change

By Dawn Elizabeth

In order to embrace change, we must let go.

In order to move forward, we must let go.

In order to break free, we must let go.

Take a deep breath….

Release. Relax.

Let go.

In these most exciting of times, it seems that many of us are ready to “let go’ of the accumulation of baggage and falsities, lame excuses and procrastinations, so that we may embrace our higher selves and our higher truth. It takes courage to let go in the face of opposition and while standing in fear of the unknown.

Letting go requires our full attention, so that we may be certain of our choices and in touch with our higher truth. All of us are familiar with our own voice of inner wisdom, the one that reminds us that there is more to life than the mundane and the routine.  Letting go sounds so cliché these days, but it is no less integral and necessary to our growth than the Sun that gives us life.

Dig deep. Be courageous. Be loving with yourself and with others. Be kind, be patient with yourself and accepting of where ever you may be in the metaphor of life. Let go at your own pace, while being honest with yourself and others. Let go at your own pace, but do let go of whatever it is that prevents you from being all that you desire to be.

So, What is This Thing ~ Astrology?

This past month, I have had more than a few people ask me if astrology was a religion? Or, they wanted to know if astrology would go against their religious beliefs. I welcome all questions of this nature.

Astrology is not a religion, instead it is an ancient language. It is a language, just as is Mandarin, Arabic, English, Spanish or Japanese. One only needs to know the symbols of that language in order to interpret its meaning.

The language of astrology is as old as Man himself. It is the most ancient of all languages…it’s meanings interpreted for thousands of years, long before the birth of Christ or the formation of organized religion. Astrology does not “go against religion.” It is simply a language, one that has always been in existence.

If one knows the Bible, one can find many quotes, which reference the gift that has been provided us in the language of the Stars ~ the language of the Sky and its movement.

"There shall be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars." - Jesus Christ, Luke 21:25

"And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as SIGNS to mark seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the Earth." And it was so." (Gen. 1:14-15)

"And there shall be SIGNS in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the Earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the Earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming

in a cloud with great power and glory.” (Luke 21:25-27)

In a world of such diversity, the language of astrology is Universal. We may all have different skin colors, diverse ethnicities and cultures. We may be divided by our religions and/or our beliefs. We may speak many different languages and live in different parts of the world. We are all motivated by different things.

No matter the infinite number of differences between us….there is one thing that we ALL have in common! We all live under the same Sky! When we look up into that big, beautiful Universe, we are all looking at the same set of stars and constellations….the same Sun, the same Moon, the same Mercury and Venus, Mars and Jupiter…and the same Milky Way. It is only our perception of what we see, that divides us.
