Monday, July 13
New Moon in Pisces/Aries
Waking up to an Aries moon after the misty mood of Pisces is somewhat like having a cold bucket of ice water dumped over your head. It's time to wake up ~ get with the program. Mercury, the communication planet is also teaming up with the Sun at 21 Cancer. While there...our thinking and communication become fused with our ego. We might also identify much more intensely with our thoughts, ideas and opinions. With the Sun in Cancer, we might be more apt to express ourselves from an emotional field of dependeny, neediness or insecurity. (It is also possible that we express ourselves through unconditional love and a sense of belonging that we feel for ourselves and want to give to others). Combined with the fiesty Aries moon, we could find ourselves pushing our ego energies onto others with our words and thoughts. On the other hand, if you need to be assertive today, you are getting an extra boost of mojo today.
Mars and Pluto are getting involved as well, in a sticky little square. Pluto in Capricorn is organized and set on slow, transformative and deliberate change through disciplined action over time, while Mars in Gemini wants to skip the deep stuff and let curiousity lead the way to the next discovery and the next piece of interesting information.
So, our ego identification is strong today. The moon in Aries is impulsive, while Mars in Gemini is a bit too superficial for the intensity and passion of Pluto. In short, whatever you're thinking about saying or doing today, you might want to count to 10 first and allow yourself the opportunity to make sure it's something you won't regret later.

Every day I am getting better and better at communicating from a loving perspective that empowers myself and others.
Tuesday, July 14
Moon in Aries
Today marks the beginning of the Waning Quarter moon phase for the next 3 1/2 days until the moon makes way into the dark Balsamic lunar phase (read more about eh lunar phases in Astro 101 in the left hand column).
There could be a little inner conflict of interest between the Aries moon and its need to push forward and the Waning Quarter moon, which marks the beginning of a one week period of rest, reflection and letting go. Aries is symbolic of new beginnings and is associated with Springtime and the New Moon phase.
Typically, during this cycle of the lunar phase, that we are all experiencing, we are wrapping up rather than starting new. Maybe you could use the Aries fire to motivate yourself or others to relax.

I lovingly let go of all that stands in the way of my peace and my truth.
Wednesday, July 15
Moon in Aries/Taurus
The morning could get off to a slow and possibly unproductive start, as the moon will be void of course (VOC) until about noon, when it will change signs from passionate and inspired Aries into the more earthy and grounded Taurus. When the moon is void of course, in other words, when the moon is not making a connection to any other planets, we sometimes tend to feel a little lost or have difficulty with building momentum. VOC moons are also not typically the best time to sign important contracts, make large purchases or start something new. The energy of the VOC moon , is more conducive to wrapping up unfinished business, clearing off our desk or simply unpugging for a bit.
The thinking planet, Mercury at 25 degrees Cancer, is in the mix again today, as it squares off with the triple conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune at 25 degrees Aquarius (yes, this stellar trio is now holding hands again at 25 degrees and all retrograde). Cancer is emotional, family-oriented and nurturing. Aquarius, on the other hand is an idealist, a visionary...with an eye toward the future. While our thoughts may be more centered on matters of the heart and home, our urge to experience faith, healing and creative a vision for the future are somewhere up in the clouds.
Maybe we can compromise and dream up our original and eccentric plans for the betterment of the Universe and in the spirit of humanitarian brotherhood from the livingroom couch, after a nice dinner at home with our family and loved ones.
Affirmation for the day:
Abundant time for peace and for quiet is worth planning for and partaking in ample servings.
Thursday, July 16
Moon in Taurus
The moon in peace and serenity-seeking Taurus may help us to feel grounded through the continued antics of Mercury's ongoing escapades this week. This little trickster is really stirring it up this week. First, the thinking planet is mixing it up with Uranus today. This might actually be a little fun and could lead to the discovery of new and exciting ideas or solutions to old problems. Uranus likes to break up routines and introduce the original, revolutionary and eccentric. It can be a bit rebellious, too ~ so use the Taurus moon to ground you so that any sudden ideas that do pop up can be used effectively and to your advantage, rather than be sabotaged by your need to rebel against the system or go against the status quo. Of course, if you're thinking of starting a revolution ~ this might be a great day to do it!
Mercury also conflicts with Venus today, and that could spell communication misunderstandings with our loved ones. Since we project a lot of our own subconscious stuff onto the other person in any relationship, take this opportunity to read between the lines of any uncomfotable verbal exchange with another today. It could be that you are perceiving things inaccurately or that the others person's words are actually colored by their own subconscious fears and insecurities. Try to step back long enough to assess what is really happening.
If all else fails and a major argument ensues and/or hurt feelings emerge, use the sensual Taurus moon to have a geat make-up session. Taurus enjoys the physical realm and all of its sensual delights. Tender and enduring touching and notions of physical love are always on the menu. A little music and gourmet food wouldn't hurt either.
Affirmation for the day:
When all else fails, I can always get back to the present moment by tuning into the sound of my own breath, as I slowly inhale and exhale deeply and fully.
Friday, July 17
Moon in Taurus/Gemini
Another VOC moon from 10:48 am - 4:41 pm. While the moon transitions from Taurus to Gemini, there will be a long period of the day where the feelings connected to our actions seem to be a little numbed. Also, it could be that in the absence of the lunar energies, we might feel the other planetary connections going on a little bit more.
Today, the Sun in Cancer makes the same tense angle to Jupiter, Chriron, Neptune conjunction as it did on Wednesday. This time our ego, or core essence of our being is involved. Jupiter likes everything larger than life, Chiron illuminates our fears and our pain, while Neptune and its dissolving nature often makes it hard to tell the difference between the truth and total delusion. I guess it all depends where we go with this. We could give in to our fears, feeling a total lack of self esteem and self worth in a really large way, have the wool pulled straight over our eyes by our own sense of delusion or someone elses...or we could reach for higher ground and visualize ourselves living our dream courageously, while pushing all fear aside.
Mecury also moves in Leo today and inspires our thoughts in a more optimistic light. Combined with the moon's entrance into Gemini this afternoon our thoughts and emotions may just get the lighthearted break we've all been looking for.

I choose to walk the higher path of the courageous and gentle warrior, standing in my truth and moving in peace.
Saturday, July 18
Moon in Gemini
Mercury again? Today our trickster is in challenging aspect to Pluto. Recall that Pluto often brings total and utter destruction of the old before rising to the occasion of the newly transformed. Our thoughts may be heavy today and some may be reluctant to look behind the secret veils of our psyche and see what garbage we need to take out. It's kind of like cleaning out the stale closets in our minds...clearing it of any unwanted debris. Destructive arguments, power struggles or accusations could be the negative mix, and you could be either the victim or the perpetrator. Expose it all for what it really is, own up to it and be honest about what is really going on.
The Sun is connecting with Uranus in a way that opens up the possibilties and helps us to find new solutions again. Try something different, do something different. Paint a picture in your mind and in your heart to visualize your life in a new and refreshing light.
Affirmation for the day:
I have the power to change my circumstance by first changing my mind.
Sunday, July 19
Moon in Gemini/Cancer
Mercury makes a last stand this week by connecting with the planet Saturn this time. This is a call to discipline your mind by overcoming fears and putting your nose to the grindstone. Heavy and serious energy for a Sunday. Maybe the Gemini moon can lighten things up a bit...or atleast keep you distracted, especially when it forms an angle of harmony to that trio in Aquarius, helping us to see a greater vision and purpose beyond the mundane.

The simplest pleasures in life are free.
