What's in the Stars? Monday, June 22 New Moon in Cancer
Today is the New Moon in Cancer. There will actually also be a second New Moon in Cancer next month, as well. Apparently the Universe has decided that we need two New Moons in the sign of the Mother, the Nurturer and the Caretaker in order that we may add the spiritual principal of unconditional love into our lives. Whatever astrological "house" this New Moon in Cancer falls in your natal chart is ripe and in need of new beginnings. We are also getting an extra boost to this New Moon with the help of Mars (our motivation, desire and Will) in grounded, earthy Taurus... and Saturn (our discipline, our need for structure) in detail-oriented Virgo. This is a great day to launch something new or make significant progress towards a goal or project. Whatever intent you put forth today will certainly be based on a solid and substantial foundation that promises long lasting results if you plan well and take action. Recall that New Moons call for a list of intentions and/or goals combined with some action toward the manifestation of those goals. Make it happen! Seize the day!
This New Moon in Cancer is also opposite Pluto, the planet of surrender and deep transformation. Cancer is a sign in touch with feelings and emotions. Pluto likes to go deep and root out any extra baggage or psychic garbage that we may be hanging on to. Maybe it's time to let go of some old emotional patterns that we may be clinging onto for dear life and let go of whatever it is that stands in the way of our emotional health and well being. You know, those ways of relating to others that sometimes trip us up and self sabotage our best efforts to love and be loved unconditionally and consumately. Pluto is about surrender and release, death and re-birth. Cancer is about out emotional field and our sense of security, home, roots and family. What can you release? What do you need to renew?
Cancer moons can often make us feel a little extra senstive and feelings can be hurt easily. Also, we may tend to worry unnecessarily about things that are beyond our control. Cancer often has energy that is manipulative and controlling, but only in an effort to feel safe and secure. Pluto energy can also be manipulative and power hungry, as well. If you find yourself in any sort of emotional power struggle today, ask yourself what you are really afraid of. Is what you're clinging to really worth fighting for? Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy. Seek the truth today. Reconnect to your authentic way of being. Plant new seeds of intent and promise to project from a place of trust, surrender, acceptance, security, safety and peace with no need for questions.

Moon in Cancer
The moon remains in Cancer for the day. The energy of the New Moon is still with us, and it's not too late to take action. In fact, the time is ripe for manifestation in the house that is ruled by Cancer in your natal chart. Whereas the moon was opposing Pluto yesturday, igniting our emotional field, today it is the Sun opposing Pluto bringing us into possible ego confrontations and the false belief that we need to prove who and what we are. Power struggles with others would be the signal that there is something awry in the way we see ourselves or others. Cancer is very sensitive, and our feelings can be easily hurt. Recall that we are all deserving in being exactly who we are...nothing more, nothing less.
Affirmation for the day:
There is no need to apologize for who I am. I am a child of God and am deserving of love and happiness.

Moon in Cancer/Leo
The emotionally charged energy of watery Cancer gives way for the more inspired, optimistic fiery Leo. The Lion is a natural leader, full of creativity and charisma and is eager to be in the spotlight. We are still only a few days beyond the New Moon and time is still within reach to take action. Use the positive Leo influence to create inspired action and throw another log on the slow burning flame of your desire.
Affirmation for the day:
Life is like a wave...it goes up, then it comes down. Acceptance of both allows magic to happen when and where I least expect it.

Moon in Leo
The Leo moon is uninterrupted by other astrological influences today. We are all getting the green light to move forward with our goals and our intent. Recall that Leo loves the spotlight and is eager to perform. Along with this friendly show, the Lion expects praise and adoration for the its noble and chivalrous acts of kindness and stunning performance. Leo is ruled by the Sun, the center of our Universe. Everything else in our solar systme revolves around the Sun. Take the time to recognize the deeds of others today. Under a Leo moon, there can sometimes be a bit of drama and grandstanding. The more dramatic the performance, the more likely it is that someone is searching to be noticed. In being generous and showing kindness to others, we are also receiving the same for ourselves. Try to be patient with those eager to show off their stuff and throw them a little bone.

Like the Sun above, I am able to radiate warmth, kindness, love and compassion.

Moon in Leo/Virgo
It's aloha Friday and another beautiful day in Paradise! Our minds are alive with the mental agility, adaptability and versatility of Mercury in Gemini. Recall that Mercury is the planet symbolic of the way we think and communicate, and it's clashing a bit with Saturn in Virgo today. Saturn respresents our need for discipline and overcoming fear. Virgo has an eye for perfection, which it tries to achieve by revealing the flaws and fault finding. With these energies combined, we may notice ourselves or others acting a little nit-picky today and expressing criticism, constructive or otherwise.
As the moon moves into Virgo as well this afternoon, we will really notice the holes and loose ends in those grand plans we may have initiated earlier this week. The idea is to find creative solutions and seek organization rather that resorting to nit-picking something to death. Use this energy to ground yourself and do a little careful planning. Virgo rules the 6th house of health, exercise routines, planning, organization, small pets and our service to others. This is a great day to make strides in these areas. How can you humbly be of service today?

Moon in Virgo
An all day Virgo moon may have us seeking a bit of solitude today. The Virgin can be somewhat of a loner and is eager to order the world around into a neat little organized package of perfection. Rather than revert to endless critism, use the day to do a bit of cleaning. Virgo isn't just here to "clean up the mess and scrub the toilets," but it sure doesn't hurt to use this energy to our advantage. Summer is here and your closet is begging for more space. Your kitchen cupboards and refrigerator might be harboring stuff that is unrecognizable at this point. Maybe your pets could use a nice bath and bit of extra attention today. Time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. It's a great day for it!

Moon in Virgo/Libra
This morning the moon will not be contacting any other planets or celestial influences. This is know as a void of course moon and often occurs before the moon moves into the next sign of the zodiac. Don't expect to get too much done this morning. Take advantage of a little meditative relaxation and reflection time before the moon moves into the more social sign of Libra just before lunch. You may decide to ditch the cleaning and organizing and get out and do a little socializing and mingling with friends.
Libra loves appearances and generally finds pleasure in the finer, more aesthetic qualities of our existence. How can you be the lover, the artist and the peacemaker today? Seeking harmony, especially in our relationships is highlighted under a Libra moon. Put some fresh flowers on the table today, wear something that makes you feel pretty or handsome and have a few friends over for dinner. You'll be right in the groove!
