Week of April 27 - May 3, 2009

Monday, April 27
Moon in Gemini
The moon remains in Gemini all day.  The twins react quickly, perceptively, changeably and with unending curiousity.  Gemini feels secure when stimulated mentally, with an objective need to verbalize feelings in order to be connected with them.  Ambidextrous, witty and intellectual, Gemini can often spiral into scattered emotional energy, superficiality and a tendency to throw too many pans on the fire at once...but if you've got some brainstorming or networking to do, this could be a great day for it.

If you feel yourself on mental overload and bucking wildly like a loose rider on a wild horse, try some deep breathing to stay in the present and to get yourself grounded.

A difference of opinion between the Moon and Saturn early this afternoon could temper Gemini's love for playful distractions with some good 'ole fashioned detail-oriented task and a side-order of possible obstacles, barriers and delays.

Affirmation for the day:
If I take three steps forward, then two steps back, I have still moved ahead by one step.

Moon In Gemini/Cancer
A beautiful, magical quintile (a high resonance astrological aspect of Divine intervention) is occurring early this morning between the Sun (our path to self-realization) and Neptune (our urge to merge with Oneness).  Our ego energies can harmoniously dissolve without any sense of loss of power or sense of self, in order that we may experience divine compassion, forgiveness, imagination and an attunement to Spirit (God, Allah, Higher Self, Buddha, the Universe ~ whatever you choose personally).

A quintile can be very subtle and requires our full attention to experience this truly spiritual connection and symbiosis of the Universal collective.  Remain open to the flow and a meditative state of acceptance and allowance. Remember that prayer is when we talk to God, but when we are silent and receptive, God can talk to us.  If you believe in angels, they are all around today.

The moon secures itself into its natural sign of Cancer this afternoon.  Cancer is the archetype of the mother, nurturer and healer.  Familiar surroundings and people can offer a sense of security, family and contentment.  Cancer is warm and fuzzy, nurturing and touchy-feely, with a need to be needed.  If the Crab's emotional needs are not met, it might retreat back into its shell, withdrawing itself emotionally to avoid pain.

Needless worry, emotional blackmail and running for the frig are a few of the Crab's favorite defense mechanisms.   The highest expression of Cancer energy is nurturing, supportive and rooted in the spiritual principal of unconditional love.

Affirmation for the day:
There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.
There's no place like home.

Wednesday, April 29
Moon in Cancer
The moon remains in Cancer all day unaffected by any other major planetary influences.  I would like to think that the Universe has given us another day to cherish the high resonance offerings from yesturday.  Another day to contemplate what personal blocks or barriers stand in the way of our ability to experience and embrace a deep connection to the "all are one and one is all" truth, surrounded with an unbiased and unconditional love and compassion for all.

Affirmation for the day:
When I truly allow myself to connect with Grace, I am reminded that I am responsible for my own happiness, and that blaming others when I am unhappy only serves to cover up my own short~comings, insecurities and misperceptions.

Thursday, April 30
Moon in Cancer/Leo
A racey connection between the Sun and "wired" Uranus may frazzle our nervous systems a bit and challenge us to break out of some of our own self~imposed ruts.  Adding to the discomfort associated with personal change, is the Cancer Moon's ability to heighten our sense of insecurity.  As Mercury enters its home sign of Gemini, our thoughts often race faster than our ability to process them.  Words can also spill out of our mouths faster than we can reasonably filter them, increasing the possibility of engaging in harmful gossip and spilling secrets that we have been entrusted to keep.

Couple all that with the moon's entrance into Leo, and some may find themselves or others demanding attention while roaring their way onto center stage and ego~centrically dramatizing emotions, or allowing foolish pride to dim their own spotlight.

For those who wish to seek higher ground, express the optimistic Lion's sense of creativity, youthfulness, generousity and self confidence. Get in touch with your Leonian qualities of leadership and chivalry, emitting a loyal and steady, soft~glowing enthusiasm and passion.
'
Affirmation for the day:
My mind is infused with brilliant ideas pouring into creative self expression and is always available to generously and passionately inspire others.

Friday, May 1
Moon in Leo
Today is the First Quarter Moon, when the Taurus Sun squares off with the Leo moon, giving us the often challenging opportunity to check in and discover creative solutions to any barriers or obstacles that we may have encountered since last week's New Moon in Taurus.

There are a handful of contrasting transits today, so things could go either way.  First quarter moons have a way of exposing the flaws in our plans, requiring that some adjustments be made.  With the moon still in Leo, creativity is close at hand, and with the Sun in Taurus, a solid and enduring form can manifest.  Celestially speaking, Leo loves anything luxurious and is optimistic and willing to take chances.  Taurus, on the other hand, prefers security, practicality and conservatism.  Find the balance between these contrasting energies, and you'll smooth out any wrinkles and find yourself right in the flow.

Affirmation for the day:
The Universe has lovely thigs planed for me.  I humbly and graciously accept.

Saturday, May 2
Moon in Leo/Virgo
Ahh, it's finally the weekend, but wait!  Venus (our urge to relate and experience beauty) is squaring off with Pluto (our urge to face the shadow, experience death so that we may re~birth ourselves, fully transformed).  This could spell trouble in the relationhip department.  Watch for the less desirable feelings of jealousy, manipulation, possessiveness and fear to darken the enlightened bliss in our close and personal relationships.

Coupled with the moon's entrance into analytical Virgo, we may find ourselves or others focusing on the flaws and giving into unproductive critism and relentless nit~picking.

By tuning into the grace and beauty of the peaceful andserene Venusian realm, we can allow Pluto to unravel the hidden secrets and mystery and re~birth our relationships into a newly transformed state of truth with a little less pain ad resistance.  Use the Virgo moon to find detailed and creative solutions and make adjustments where needed.

Affirmation for the day:
Whe I expose my fears and allow myself to be vulerable, I am open to miracles and transformation to a deeper level of being and relating.

Sunday, May 3
Moon in Virgo
The moon remains in Virgo for the entire day with no interferece from any other planetary connections.  There is still a bitter sweet aroma from Saturday's plunge into the depths of truth and transformation lingering in the air.

The Virgin symbolizes purity and humility.  Under her energies, we may discover ways to be of service to ourselves and others.  Virgo claims the 6th house of the birth chart and such processes as health, organization, planning, small pets, routines and work habits ~ but the larger theme is that of the sacred and humble servant.  Who can you serve today?  Maybe your beloved pet could use a bath and a nail trim.  Maybe a little attetion to your diet and exercise plan will come up for review.  If all else fails, it's a great day to get down and dirty with some nitty~gritty "white~glove test" cleaning and organizing.  Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Affirmation for the day:
I have enough...
I am enough...
