Have you been listening to all the hype surrounding the 2012 event? Seems every time you turn around these days, there is another person chanting predictions of our demise and
predictions of cataclysmic change. Some of my favorites? (all quotes are kept anonymous for confidentiality.)
“We just want to be ready…you know , for 2012. The world will be separated into two extreme forces of good and evil. Scary times, indeed. Which side will you be on?”
“It’s not just the real end of the world…it’s only the end of the world as we know it. Time will keep speeding up….going faster and faster. All technology will end. No more banks, money or time. We will be forced to grow our own food and live like they did thousands of years ago. Many of us won’t survive.”
Or, there’s my personal favorite…
“The end of the world is coming! Get ready! Armeggedon has begun. And, the bible said there would be earthquakes and famine and disease…and flooding and fires and hurricanes. We only have less than 4 years left to prepare. It says so in the bible…it is upon us.”
All I know is this… As far back as history goes, we have always had earthquakes, famine, disease, flooding and fires. This is nothing new. It is the Nature of our Earth. I’m not denying that we’re in store for some new and interesting times. I am only suggesting that we calm down and put things into perspective and live our lives in the present. Remember all the hype surrounding the “Y2K?” Do you also remember that nothing happened?
The bottom line: Do we really want to waste each precious moment of the present… pondering, panicking and agonizing over the potential future and all of the “Doom’s Day” predictions of our media, friends and neighbors?

Let’s take a look at what kind of weather September has in store…
September 2008
September promises to be an important month for relationships. The month begins with not only the Moon in Libra, but also Mercury, Venus and Mars. The Sun will enter Libra on September 22. Libra is all about balance in our relationships, but also in our finances….and is also the archetype of the Lover, the Artist, and the Diplomat. Libra is ruled by Venus and adds a sense of aesthetic charm, beauty , elegance and refined taste to our palettes. When “out of balance,” Libra can become a people pleasing, fickle, indecisive, tit-for tat, passive aggressive character.
The Sun will remain in Virgo until September 22. The Virgin is seeking perfection and purity. She helps us to make adjustments where things are flawed, seek training, apprenticeship or find a Mentor. We may also become the Mentor, as Virgo is the archetype of the Mentor, the Craftsperson, the Humble and Sacred Servant. The Virgin is here to be of service. At best, she is precise, accurate, exacting, full of ingenuity, able to solve problems and be of service to others. Her Shadow side is nit- pickiness, denigration of Self and/or others and getting swallowed up in too much attention to detail, losing sight of the big picture.
Where is Virgo in your natal chart? Since Virgo is excellent at spotting all the flaws and imperfections, this arena of your world might be a good place to start “cleaning up the mess.” Just remember, we are only human and none of us is perfect…including you, Virgo. Don’t be so hard on yourself.
Sept. 3: For the next day or two, the Sun and Saturn are teaming up for some sort of serious, well-disciplined effort, dedication and performance. What you do over the next few days could either bring a project to completion or assure the success of a new one. Disciplined effort is the key to success.
Sept 4: Luck could be in the air today, as well as your shining optimistic view of life. The Sun and Jupiter are in harmony opportunity could present itself, just make sure you are looking…or you might miss it.
Sept. 7: Lots of adjustments in the Sky today.
- the First Quarter Moon at 15 degrees Sagittarius gives a glimpse of where we might need to make some adjustments since the New Moon in Virgo on August 30. This is the time to clear any obstacles standing in our way of success. Things could feel a bit tense.
- Mercury and Jupiter are challenging you to watch what you say today. Use all that extra mental activity wisely. Be careful not to blurt out something you wish you hadn’t . In other words, don’t say anything that you might regret later. There will be no way to take it back.
- If your Sun, Moon or Ascendant is in Sagittarius, it’s time to celebrate. Jupiter, your ruling planet begins its forward movement today, suggesting that you can finally begin to move forward, as well, ending a long period of retreat and preparation.
Sept 8: More changes in store. It may take a day or two to orient.
- Jupiter and Saturn are forming a rare angle of harmony, which suggests that things can manifest seemingly on their own, with little or no effort on our parts.
-Mercury and Mars continue our increased mental activity from yesterday. Mercury - the Prankster and Mars-the Fuel or Action…are challenging each other...so watch your tongues again today and stay positive.
- Finally, Pluto goes direct today at 28 degrees Sagittarius. Scorpio natives, or anyone with the Sun, Moon or Ascendant (or even strong Scorpio or 8th house emphasis in their natal charts) may begin to feel more in sync, coming out of the dungeony depths and into the Light again. Go for it!
Sept 15: The Moon enters Aries today and energies are easily ignited. Aries is bold and pioneering, but can also be aggressive, angry and impulsive. Ruled by Mars, Aries likes to do everything FAST and first!
This energy adds fuel to an already supercharged Harvest Moon, Full in Pisces. Possibilities are everywhere! Pisces is the ruler of our dreams, our past, music, movies, art and also our sense of Compassion. It is also the ruler of drugs and alcoholism…escapism, denial and victimization. The choice is your today. Where is Pisces in your natal chart? Are you in store for a Harvest?
Sept 21: Today is the Last Quarter Moon at 29 degrees Gemini. These Moons suggest the beginning of a week long period, where we get to go inward to reflect on our accomplishments or ponder our failures. The Moon is now losing Light. It is symbolic of our need to meditate, rest and be still. Our bellies are full from feasting on the fruits of our
labor... or empty and burning with hunger after a failed
harvest...or from our own shortcomings, apathy or failed attempts. Either way, it is a time to clear the field, let go of what’s already gone and prepare to plant a new seeds of intent on the New Moon, Sept. 29 at 6 degrees Libra. Where is Libra in your natal chart? What do you want to grow?
Sept 22: Happy Birthday Libra and Welcome to the Autumn Equinox. How fitting that the sign of
the Balancer ushers in the time of Harvest, when both day and night are equal in length. Venus and Pluto are forming an angle of excitement today. Learning from each other and cooperating for empowerment are possibilities.
Sept 23: Yet another squabble between Mercury and Mars. Watch your temper and mind what you say.
- Mercury is preparing for its Retrograde action tomorrow and Venus enters Scorpio today. Relationships take on a serious tone. All in all, this is not the best day to move forward on any major projects or sign on any important dotted lines. That said, it is also important to remember that we are not merely puppets, dangling and dancing to the music of the planets and their actions. Take responsibility and recall that we always have a say in what happens!
Sept 24: Mercury goes retrograde today in Libra, suggesting an inward movement…a time where we get to go back and reflect and re-organize. Mercury retrogrades are not only a time when the lines of communication can be crossed, or even breakdown completely (computer crashes, bank errors, equipment failures…and these are indeed possibilities…). It is also a time for fixing and planning and reflecting. It’s like a second chance to review and get it right. Don’t squander this time by focusing on all that can go wrong. Use it to plan all that can go right. Good things can happen, too. (Just remember to fix that squeaky wheel, back up your computer files, review all important paperwork and double check your bank statements.)
Sept 29: New Moon at 6 degrees Libra. Remember that Libra is the Balancer, especially in our relationships and our financial matters. Where does Libra fall in your natal chart? What seeds of intent can you plant? Jupiter is connecting with this New Moon, suggesting that your plans be BIG and EXPANSIVE!
