Dream a Little Dream With Me… by Dawn Elizabeth
As March begins, the Sun remains in Pisces, encouraging us to unplug further and further away from our mundane and ordered lives so that we may stop, rest and dream a better dream, not only for ourselves, but for the entire collective Universe.
The Pisces Sun plunges us deep into the vast oceanic waters of vision, imagination, intuition and mysticism. Pisces knows that there are many different dimensions and realities and is here to dissolve the boundaries of logic, structure and assertiveness, so that we may realign ourselves with the Dreamtime. In late January and early February, the Aquarian Sun encouraged us to be original, think out of the box, focus on the future, brotherhood and humanitarianism, hook back up with our cosmic collective tribe. Aquarius spends a lot of time in her head, somewhat detached from her emotions, immersed in a world thoughts and revolutionary, eccentric ideals. Pisces, on the other hand, submerges us into the wet and watery world of compassion, unity and spirituality. Pisces encourages us to tune into the beating of our own heart and to reconnect with our feelings. This Neptunian-ruled sign sends us swimming into the vast and womb-like waters that contain kindness, sensitivity, creativity and a connection to the collective and universal flow. In mid-March, Mars-ruled, Aries explodes onto the scene to fire things up and usher in the new life of the Spring Equinox!
We are being given an opportunity in the second half of February and the first half of March to retreat into our own watery subconscious well of emotion to fish for our sense of compassion and understanding to create a kinder and gentler life for ourselves, our children, our world and our Mother Earth.
Pisces puts us in touch with our angels, spirit guides and higher power, leaving us pregnant with a rich world of dreams and in touch with our own creative flow and the sense that we are connected to a greater Divine energy, and that we are never alone. In mid-March, Aries rushes in on the scene like an exploding fountain of flames, giving birth and the first breath of life to our pregnant bellies full of ideals and richly created dreams. This Mars-ruled warrior, daredevil and pioneer wakes us up from our world of mystic slumber and springs us into action. The masculine energy of Mars expresses our will, our drive and desire. It also represents creative flow and our sexual energy. While Pisces allows us the space and serenity to create our dreams, Aries smacks us into taking action on them. When you awaken from your beautiful, sacred dreamtime, what are you hoping to give birth to?
Are you happy in your current job, your relationships, your sense of joy , creativity and happiness? If not, why not? Give time and space to your dreams and intuition and see what happens. Dare to dream a better life, a happier world for yourself and others. Imagine a new abundant life for yourself full of love, prosperity and abundance. Now, imagine a world full of love and kindness, a world without aggression, starvation, violence, poverty or pain… a world that promises rich bounty and abundance and love for all. Most of all, believe that it can happen. Dreams really can come true.
March 2009 Forecast
Sunday, March 1 -Monday, March 2: Sunday begins with the moon in peace-loving Taurus. Massages, great food and relaxation time spent in Nature could be on the menu. A fiery connection between Mercury and Mars could be heating up your conversations, presenting new and exciting ideas or strong, pushy arguments. Enjoy a gourmet meal on Monday, rest up and prepare for a busy day tomorrow.
Tuesday, March 3 - Wednesday, March 4: By the time you wake up on Tuesday, the moon will be in restless Gemini. Mercury joins Chiron, bringing attention to our own particular wounds and vulnerabilities. Be kind to yourself and allow Chiron’s healing energies to remind you that you are safe and still breathing in this very moment and not lacking for anything. You’re okay. Use your soothing words to nurture yourself and others. The First Quarter Moon in Gemini is there to illuminate any obstacles strewn along your path and acting as barriers to the manifestation of the intentions set into motion during the New Moon Eclipse in Pisces last Tuesday. It can be a time of useful tension. It’s energies want you to take notice of what’s going wrong, but also what’s going right. This is your chance to remove any cogs in the wheel.
Thursday, March 5 - Friday, March 6: Mercury briefly meets up with oceanic Neptune, providing a rich stimulation of the unconscious while we dream. This opens up the physic channels and sparks imagination. It can also cause vagueness and inaccuracy of thought or data. You might want to check your math twice. The moon also slips into Cancer. The crab likes to be at home and surrounded by family and loved ones. When she is content, she has a wonderful sense of humor and a feeling of unconditional love. When she is insecure, she tends toward worry, moodiness and anything she can get her hands on in the refrigerator. On Friday, Venus begins her retrograde movement in Aries. The planet of love is uncomfortable with Aries as a bed partner and may find it difficult to receive. The next 6 weeks provide us with an opportunity to swim back upstream and strengthen our relationships with loved ones and our relationship to money.
Saturday, March 7 - Sunday, March 8: The moon strides into self-confident Leo and provides a sense of optimism and fun! Leo loves drama and was born to create. During these moons, we can act like the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz, or like the noble knight galloping off into the sunset after saving the princess (or ourselves). Saturn in Virgo is opposing the Sun in Pisces. Pisces likes to dream and imagine, while Virgo gets down and dirty with the details and finding the flaws in everything. Look out for authority figures or otherwise dream crushing pessimists who may try to block your efforts and step on your dreams with their criticism, obstacles and limitations. Mercury opens up our minds, as it swims into Pisces to join the Sun for the next 3-4 weeks. For some of you more “earth-bound” souls, this could be a bit destabilizing and confusing, however this energy is great for artists and visionaries.
Monday, March 9 - Tuesday, March 10: The moon sneaks into industrious Virgo. This earth sign loves to manage the details. These are great moons for getting organized or tackling that overflowing closet in your room. The full moon in Virgo lands right on the Saturn-Uranus opposition. Rather than find yourself in a power struggle between security (Saturn) versus freedom (Uranus), why not manage (Saturn) and out-of the box, inventive solution (Uranus) to help you achieve your current intentions? The moon contacting Saturn may add to our fear, especially of change, but the revolution is already here. Make it work for you! What area of your life is playing out? Is it a balancing act between work or your career, versus your need for family and home life? Are you dancing back and forth between your need for personal relationships versus your need for independence and freedom and the need to do your own thing? A personalized reading of your astrological transits can help you to answer these and many other questions.
Wednesday, March 11 - Thursday, March 12: Wake up to a sweet and exciting sextile between Venus and Jupiter. The combination of these two planets in this aspect can bring much needed re-alignment and harmony, not to mention a little sweet talk and good fortune to struggling relationships with people and/or finances. The moon changes hands into Venus-ruled Libra, as if to further support this beneficial connection. The only word of caution may be to curb Libra’s need to please and be the “yes” woman at the expense of her own needs and feelings. To add some serious excitement, the Sun will be making an exact conjunction to Uranus, the planet of shock and surprise. If you have been holding back and giving away too much ground, you may just find yourself making a mad dash for the exit door. Use the diplomacy of the Libra moon to ensure that if you must make an exit, it is a graceful one that you can feel good about after the dust settles. The swift surprise of Uranus’s energy can often leave us with serious feelings of remorse and regret if we act too suddenly or too rashly, or become a rebel with or without a cause. Be careful not to throw away something that you wish you hadn’t.
Friday, March 13 - Sunday, March 15: The moon enters the passionate and sometimes obsessive, stinging sign of Scorpio today. An opportunity to reflect deeper into issues of life and death and letting go are on the menu of the next few days. If you are still reeling from that Sun/Uranus Conjunction on Thursday, the Scorpio Moon may find you brooding or spending time in deep contemplation. Be careful not to attack others unfairly. On Saturday, Mars enters Pisces, dulling the sword of this mighty warrior. Mars is our will and our desire, with lot of ego energy. Pisces, ruled by Neptune likes to dissolve and disintegrate and merge back into oneness with the Universe. You may find yourself feeling drained of energy and feeling a lack of drive or purpose. Mars in Pisces is fantastic for artists and healers. Other activities that enhance this connection between Mars and Pisces are water sports, meditation, art and dance.
There are no significant events on Sunday, as if to allow us a chance to rest and reflect on the whirlwind and change of the last few days.
Monday, March 16 - Thursday, March 19: Monday brings one of my personal favorite moons in Sagittarius. The sign of the Archer and the optimist. Sag seems to always lift the heavy energy of Scorpio and give us a new and uplifting view of life and all its bounty. Tuesday is another all day Sagittarius moon without any other significant transits. It’s as if the Universe just wants us to revel in optimism and joy today, as tomorrow might not feel so light and carefree! Wednesday is the Last Quarter Moon, symbolic of what we need to learn to let go of in order to move forward. Letting go is quite cliché these days, it seems, but nonetheless necessary. Letting go of “things” and “people” are often the likely targets outside of ourselves, but on a deeper level, it is often necessary to let go of falsely held or outdated beliefs that no longer suit our level of maturity or letting go of bad habits that sabotage our own moves and prevent us from success. The moon’s entrance in stoic Capricorn adds a super serious tone to whole mix. Don’t let pessimistic dream killers or possible bad news veer you too far from course. Stick to the business at hand.
There are no significant events on Thursday, allowing us a chance to say goodbye to the Pisces Sun until this time next year.
Friday, March 20: Happy Birthday Aries! This day also marks the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the Fall Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. At 4:44 a.m. EDT, day and night will be of equal length all around the world. Aries energy is strong and impulsive, bold and daring. The gas tank is full and the Warrior is going head strong into the next adventure, exploring unknown territories. This year, Pluto in Capricorn gets involved, forming a close square to the Aries Sun, suggesting that instead of “ramming” ahead, we may want to consider smaller, carefully planned baby steps. During this seasonal shift into bold new beginnings, with a little caution, care and integrity, the patterns and routine set in place now could have lasting and major significance in the months and years to come. If there is something new you would like to do, maybe a new career, a new look or a whole new life, it is now within reach. If you utilized the Pisces Dreamtime to the fullest and have a vision, now is the time for disciplined action!
Saturday, March 21 - Sunday, March 22: The moon enters original and inventive Aquarius, while Mercury teams up with Uranus (the higher octave of Aquarius’ expression). Innovation and unconventional, out-of-the-box ideas could come at such lightning speed that without a little grounding and practicality (like maybe keeping a digital recorder handy to capture some of the brilliance on record), all may be lost back to the electrically supercharged, super-amped Uranian cosmos.
Monday, March 23 - Tuesday, March 24: Monday greets with an exact square between Pluto in Capricorn and the Sun in Aries, causing possible power struggles. Cooperation may not be our strong suit under this tough angle, but thanks to the Pisces Moon, we may find more kindness and the ability to gracefully let go. Pluto loves transformation…mostly in the way it seeks to dig up the truth, let go of the past, break off a friendship or sever ties with a loved one, especially if it stands in the way of our evolutionary process. Under the compassion of the Pisces Moon, we just may be able to do so in a more pleasing and gentle matter, or we may also have the urge to simply escape the madness.
Wednesday, March 25-Thursday, March 26: It’s Aries time! Mercury joins the Sun and Venus in the sign of the ram, and the Moon joins the martial ranks by Thursday afternoon. Get ready for a fiery ride, as a sometimes unchecked Arian impulsiveness and self serving action can mow down anything or anyone in its path. With Mercury in Aries, our words can fly out of our mouths at the speed of light with no time for reasonable censorship or thoughtful sensitivity. Interactions are intensified and heated by the continued square of Pluto to this stellium in Aries. Survival of the fittest, the courageous and the brave might be the catchphrase for this mid-week ball of fire!
Friday, March 27 - Saturday, March 28: The moon remains in Aries for most of Friday and is joined by a Jupiter, Pluto, Mercury angular triad that could expose the seedier side of the mind. Tongues will be on fire with possible strong words and strong opinions. With any luck, the conjunction of the Sun and Venus will add sweetness to the pot…or add feelings of vengeance and hypersensitivity. Tread lightly and think before you speak. The moon’s entrance into earthy Taurus may either soften the blow or add fuel to the fire, as Taurus is a fixed earth sign and can be as stubborn as a bull when it exposes its shadow energy.
Sunday, March 29- Monday, March 31: Sunday allows us to rest with no significant aspects and a remaining Taurus moon, suggesting that we take care of the needs of our body and our physical comforts and pleasures. The moon moves into whirlwind Gemini on Monday, lightening things up a bit. The Sun and Mercury team up for some clear thinking and precision communications. As fitting, however, Neptune’s hard aspect to the Sun reminds us that there is still a need to dream and unplug. Just as the god of the sea influenced us though February and the first half of March, it seems rather fitting for this nebulous energy to remind us to open our imagination and softer, gentler nature, shelving the ego for a bit and allowing a more poetic, artistic expression to balance out the warrior like energy of Aries gone wild. It can’t be overstated…balance is really the key. Say good-bye to March. The last day of March is free from significant planetary influence. We can let out our belt a little and just breathe!
