Embracing Change
By Dawn Elizabeth

In order to embrace change, we must let go.

In order to move forward, we must let go.

In order to break free, we must let go.

Let go.  Let go.  Let go.

Release.  Relax.

Let go.

In these most exciting of times, it seems that many of us are ready to “let go’ of the accumulation of baggage and falsities and lame excuses and  procrastinations and addictions and flat out lies…so that we may embrace our higher selves and our higher Truth.  It takes courage to let go in the face of opposition and while standing in the fear of the unknown.

Letting go requires our full attention, so that we may be certain of our choices and in touch with our higher Truth.  Letting go sounds so cliché these days, but it is no less integral and necessary to our Growth and the Growth of our planet and our Universe.   It is no less essential than the Sun that gives us life.

Dig deep.  Be courageous.  Be loving with yourself and with others.  Be kind, be patient and accepting of where ever you are at in the metaphor of life.  Let go at your own pace, while being honest with yourself and others.  Let go at your own pace….but do let go of whatever it is that prevents you from being all you know you can…

Welcome to the November 2008 Astrological Forecast, by Dawn Elizabeth

November promises to be a  month full of major planetary events!  There will be a total of six planets changing signs this month, as well as two outer planets, Neptune and Pluto, ending their retrograde movement.  Pluto will be in Capricorn for the first time in more than 200 years!  This has implications for us not only personally, but also on a larger global scale.  Election day… Tuesday, November 4, in particular, demonstrates both the personal and global implications present in our decision to vote for Senator John McCain (Saturn), or Senator Barrack Obama (Uranus).

Traditionally, our Nation has been a “Saturnian” society.   That is, a society urged to keep itself organized, create structures, overcome fears and release karmic residue.  The measures put in place in our society to ensure that these motivations are satisfied, however, are governed by many rules and regulations.  Police.  Government.  Pressure.  Deadlines.  Rules.  Structure.  “Red Tape.“ Bureaucracy. Punishment.  Tradition.  Limitations.  Obligations.  Fear.  Taxes.

Saturn and Uranus will be forming an exact opposition on Election Day this year.  The theme is that of “Security” (Saturn) versus “Freedom” (Uranus).  Further, it is interesting to note that McCain’s natal moon is in Capricorn, which is ruled by…guess who?  Saturn.  He has the soul of the Manager, Advisor, Consultant, Wise Elder.  Saturn also represents structure (and maintaining that structure).  It is the planet that rules government and tradition and the creation and enforcement of rules & regulations.  Saturn has a way of  introducing limitations and barriers, put in place to ensure that change happens slowly , if at all,  and with a stern, watchful and authoritative (or authoritarian) eye. Above all, Saturn represents fear and the overcoming of fear.  In this election, Saturn may represent maintenance of the “status quo,” which some may refer to as “security.”

Uranus, on the other hand, represents, above all else…Freedom and Change.  Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius, which Obama has rising on his Ascendant.  In other words, Obama wears the mask of the Humanitarian, the Freedom Fighter, the Inventor, Reformer and Cosmic Genius.  Uranus is the planet that urges us to experience freedom, originality, authenticity and expands our sense of cosmic awareness.  Uranus encourages us to “think outside of the box.”  Uranus has a way of surprising us with sudden and unexpected events, put in place to ensure that change does happen.  Uranus can be thought of as the “rut-buster,” serving the purpose of breaking free from stale and out-dated ideas and ways of thinking….even if it has to cause a revolution or throw a few “lightning bolts” our way to do so.

On to the possibilities….

Nov.1:  Moon is in the optimistic sign of Sagittarius.  Dream big and look for your Truth!  The Sun and Neptune are making a sweet connection today, as well.  This is a great day for any kind of spiritual or artistic endeavor.  And today, Neptune goes direct.  Slowly, but surely the fog will begin to lift.  Pisces natives or those with strong Pisces in their natal charts will be ready to shake off that misty veil they’ve been wearing for the past 5 months and take off running in a forward direction.

Nov.2:  Moon changes into the sobering sign of Capricorn later in the day, suggesting a more serious tone than the happy, go lucky Archer.

Nov. 3:  Lots in the mix today.  Venus is squabbling with both Saturn and Uranus today.  And, still under the influence of the Capricorn Moon, relationships could take a hit today in the form of a struggle between the need for commitment and security (Saturn) and the need for freedom and excitement (Uranus).  This seems to be the theme of the week.  Venus will try to ease the tension between these opposing forces, but it may be a bit uncomfortable.  Perhaps a new and exciting adventure with your loved one would balance things perfectly.  Mercury  and Pluto are getting excited, and that spells discerning intellectual prowess, which will be useful, as Mars and Neptune battle it out in a tug-of-war between the urge to daydream and escape, and the urge to plow those fields and blaze new trails.  Maybe a nice brisk swim would do the trick.  Being in water will satisfy Neptune’s oceanic bliss, while the physical act of swimming will satisfy sporty Mars.

Nov. 4: Here it is…Election Day!  The Moon starts out in Capricorn, but changes into Aquarius later in the day.  Hmmm, isn’t that interesting?   Even more interesting, though, is the fact the Moon will be Void of Course in both signs all day.  Not the best day to sign on any dotted line.  Saturn in Virgo opposes Uranus in Pisces today.  Read the introduction for a detailed analysis of this “Security versus Freedom” transit, which so eloquently describes our choice at the polls today.  Mercury enters Scorpio today.  Our minds will be deep and penetrating to the core for the next 3 or so weeks, asking us to see beyond all the superficialities and pierce through to the heart of the Truth.

Nov. 5:  First quarter Moon in Aquarius.  Are there any barriers standing in your way?  What are they?  Do they serve a purpose?  Can you find a solution?  Venus, is making a sweet connection to its higher vibration, Neptune…  making it easy to take the high road and discover the most kind and loving vibe.

Nov. 6:  An all day Moon in Aquarius!  Objective thinking, brilliant ideas, creative genius, breakthroughs in technology, an interest in astrology...all are available today.  If you find yourself or those around you acting a bit rebellious, cold or robotic…they may be acting out the shadow side of the truly cosmic and humanitarian Waterbearer.

Nov. 7:  By the time you wake today….an all day Pisces Moon will be there to greet you.  It might be a foggy or heavy day, with emotions that are more sensitive than usual.  You might find yourself thinking about or in contact with people or events from your past.  The Moon will be void of course from 1:33 EST to 4:33 EST, suggesting a nice long afternoon siesta.  We are still under the effects of the Saturn/Uranus opposition.  Where is your inner rebel?

Nov. 8: Enjoy another all day Pisces Moon.  Allow yourself to dream….to escape the madness.  Meditate, gaze at the Sea, watch a good movie, connect with Spirit.

Nov. 9:  The Moon will be void of course for part of the morning…and when the Pisces fog lifts, the Aries Moon will kick you square in the back-side and say “Come on, what are you waiting for?”  Another  signal that the Aries Moon is here may come in the form of a bit of assertiveness (or aggression) on the part of yourself or others….watch out for “road rage-like” scenarios.  Patience could be hard to come by.  Aries wants to be first and “wants it now, Daddy!”

Nov. 10: More Martial energy today.  Great day for a run or a hike or maybe even a skydiving adventure.  Luck and surprise are in the air today with both Jupiter and Uranus in harmony with the Sun.  Do something different!  Should prove to be an exciting, if unpredictable day.

Nov. 11: Following a void of course moon in the AM, the Moon will enter the soothing sign of Taurus, where a good meal, a tender massage , soothing music and a retreat out in Nature are just what the doctor ordered.  With the Sun and Saturn in cooperation today, the tone could be a bit serious, at times, but also highly productive and successful.

Nov. 12: The Moon will be Full at 21 degrees Taurus at 10:19 PST and 1:17 EST.  Taurus is governed by the planet Venus.  Indulge, relax, be romantic, fall in love.  If not with another person, fall in love with a project or with yourself.  Venus enters the stoic sign of Capricorn today, encouraging us to “organize” our love, stay focused on tradition and integrity.

Nov. 13: The Moon enters Gemini today after a void of course morning.  The energy level is likely to pick up.  Communication, travel, curiosity and playfulness play key roles today.  The Gemini Moon encourages us to lighten up, use our intellect, stay moving.  It can also make us feel scattered and nervous.  With the Sun challenging Neptune today, there can be magic available in the form of intuition, or chaos in the thick Neptunian fog.  Slow down and let your inner voice be your guide.

Nov. 14: Another all day Gemini Moon.  Inspiration and excitement are all around.  Don’t forget to breathe and keep things light and airy.

Nov. 15: The Moon enters Cancer by midday .  The focus is now on home, roots and family…and our feelings.  If you find yourself running for comfort foods or retreating into your shell, you will know that the dark side of the Crab has got you in its pinchers.  Don’t be such a worry wart.  Mercury and Uranus are getting together for a fireworks show….full of brilliance and plenty of energy and mania.  Tune into the cosmos and download some new ideas or connections.

Nov. 16: It’s an all day Cancer Moon, with some interesting twists.  Mars enters Sagittarius today.  Look for your drive and motivation to get fired up!  Energy and stamina are available now.  Mercury and Jupiter make this an exciting and lucky day in communications, sales, networking.  What exciting things can you do with this energy?

Nov. 17:  Hope you used all that good Mercury /Jupiter energy yesterday, because today…Mercury is clashing with Neptune, and that could spell unclear thinking and deception and illusion.  Move carefully.  Also, the Moon is void of course all morning.  Not the best day for big decision making or big purchases, unless you have thought about them well before this day.  Are there any bad habits or addictions you could consider breaking?  This is a good day to do it.

Nov. 18: An all day Leo Moon breaks us out of our emotional chains.  Reach for optimism, feel inspired.  If you are looking to be the center of attention, what are you missing?  Can you be dramatic without being a “Drama Queen (or King?) What do you really need?  Be chivalrous today.  Be royal and elegant.  Act with heart and with pride.  Let your heart soar!

Nov. 19:  This is the last quarter Moon in Leo.  What do you need to let go of.  Until the Moon moves into Virgo later this afternoon, the answers could be a bit dramatic.  Stop and tune into your voice of “inner knowing.”  Try to meditate.  Imagine what may be standing in your way of living a true, genuine authentic life for yourself.  Imagine that you are clearing the ground to plant new seeds.  Put your hands in the dirt.  Connect with the grounding force of Nature.  Slow down.  Open your heart. Listen.  The answers will come.

Nov. 20: It’s an all day Virgo Moon.  These are great days for giving attention to the details of your life.  Virgo thrives on finding the flaws and cleaning up the mess.  Virgo also rules small pets and animals.  This is a great day to give your pets some extra special attention, clean out your closet or get out the dust buster.  You may not feel very social, but you can get a lot done.  This is also the Sun’s last day in the deep and penetrating sign of Scorpio.  Prepare for things to lighten up.

Nov. 21:  !Happy Birthday Sagittarius!  What a fantastic day! This day has success written all over it.  The Moon is still in Virgo, which may still ground your desire to play, but Jupiter is in harmony with Saturn and whatever you can dream today, you can have!  Great day to launch a business or a new venture, or even a new idea.  How fitting for the first day of the Sun in Sag!

Nov. 22:  Moon will be in Libra by the time most of you wake.  With the Sun in Sag, and Mercury entering Sag today, you are bound to feel uplifted and inspired and optimistic and social.

Nov. 23:  More airy lightness and Venusian influence.  Great night for a social engagement.  Romance is in the air.  Don’t feel bad if you are currently without a partner.  Romance isn’t always about human connection.  You can also romance an idea, read a romance novel, find romance in art or cinema…or simply connect with your inner romantic.

Nov. 24/25: The moon enters Scorpio today.  For some of you, passions will be running high.  Scorpio is fixed emotional energy.  It can give you lots of drive and passion to see anything through to it completion.  It can also be a brooding, dark, fearful and obsessive kind of energy if out of balance.  Notice how you feel today and tomorrow, while the Moon is in Scorpio.  Are you comfortable with this intense energy?

Nov. 26:  The Moon is void of course for most for the day.  It will enter Sagittarius late tonight.  Pluto will leave the sign of Sagittarius for the very first time in over 200 years.  It will enter the sign of Capricorn and will stay there for the next 16 years.  Pluto digs deep to expose our biggest fears…only so that they may be destroyed.  It is a slow process…and is almost never “light or airy.”  And, the more you resist…the more you will experience “pain.“  Globally, the world will be looking at exposing our big corporations and how they use money.  Pluto will get at the Truth…even if it leaves destruction in its wake.  The more out of proportion, the bigger the adjustment.  It is only when what has been exposed is brought fully to its knees, that a transformation can take place.  Where is your Truth?  What fears must you leave behind in order to find it?

Nov. 27:  New Moon in Sagittarius…and Happy New Year to all you Sag Risings!  This is the most joyful New Moon of the year if you stay on the side of Sag that believes in magic and that anything is possible.  Sag believes in happiness, joy and prosperity for all.  “If you’re happy, I’m happy.”  Plant your seeds of intention today and make ‘em big and optimistic!  Aquarians gets a special boost today, as their ruling planet, Uranus moves forward.  Once again, the cosmic genius of the zodiac can begin to move forward and express itself and ideas more clearly and effectively!

Nov. 28: The moon is still in Sag!  What a treat!  The only thing to watch for today is “hoof in mouth” syndrome.  The innocence and frankness of Sag has a way of blurting out things that should best be kept under raps.  With Mercury and Mars teaming up, and a Venus/Uranus connection…it should be an exciting day for relationships and verbal exchange.  Just be sure not to hurt any feelings and do plan for a day full of surprises.

Nov. 29: Moon will enter Capricorn again today.  A good day to make decisions that require clarity.  Wait until tomorrow to move in on any romantic interests…or at least exercise caution.

Nov. 30:  Another all day Capricorn Moon.  No other major aspects today.  Everything gets a green light today…and wait until you see tomorrow!  It has one of the highest success ratings of any day in the whole year of 2008!  WOW! How exciting!

Ruminations…

What if we could all experience Peace…all of the time?  I always hear people say that we need to experience discord and chaos in order to appreciate Peace when we have it.  What if those people are wrong?

It is clear that the Universe works in mysterious ways.  Sometimes I think we form our own particular beliefs just so that we can feel comforted and make sense of all the pain and suffering in the world.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no dooms day kind of person.  In fact, I am quite optimistic most of the time.  But even with all the optimism and enthusiasm, I would be completely asleep and numb if I was not always aware of the inequities that divide us.  I always question why some people seem to come into this world and suffer so much more than others, either with physical or mental illness, abuse, neglect, slavery, imprisonment, torture, or severe poverty or starvation.

Some would say that it’s their karmic path.  Maybe that makes it all better…to believe that there is something we have done in the past that now justifies the present circumstance.  Some might say that everyone  “chooses” their path before they arrive.  Maybe that sooths them into believing that we get only what we have asked for.

Despite the many beliefs and justifications for all that we see and feel in this world…I would love to see what it feels like for everyone to experience Peace simultaneously and continuously.  I would love to see what it feels like to know that every living being had enough to eat and someone to love and someone who loves them and someplace comfortable to sleep. I would love to see what it feels like to know that no one will suffer from abuse or pain or disease.  What would it be like to experience only love…and to never feel hatred?  I would love to see everyone experiencing joy and happiness and freedom…all of the time.

I guess, for now, that is just a pleasant dream world.  I wonder what would happen if we all had that same dream?  Do you think we could manifest all those kind and loving things and be able to appreciate them…even in the absence of the unpleasant things?  It’s hard to say, I suppose.  I would still like to believe in magic, believe in miracles.  I would still like to believe that Love can heal the world.

Some say we would be bored without chaos and drama and upset, war, suffering and loss…that we need the negative to realize the positive.  I don’t know.  I would like to think that we are creative enough to seek excitement in healthier and more positive ways.  I would be willing to risk it just for a day of Peace, Happiness and Freedom for every human being, plant and animal.  No matter how silly it may seem, I will never stop hoping, dreaming and wishing….

Until next time,
Dawn Elizabeth
